Rainy Riley Creek, ID

Giving Flannel a good name - Chase and Cole

First outing of 2006 with our newly repaired teardrop trailer. New roof, repairs done to galley door.

Campground full of campers with tents, big RV's, small trailers - everything - the couple next to us brought a whole litter of poodle puppies.

Kids were having fun despite the very cool temps, in the 40's and 50's. Biking, hiking, spending time with their families, what a great place to take kids. There was even an organized treasure hunt!

If you've never been to Riley Creek, you're in for a treat. Power, water, yet unspoiled somehow too. Nice bathrooms withs showers and a newly-added family and handicap bathroom, large with toilet, sink and shower. New sinks for washing dishes or just getting some (really) hot water.

We stayed warm with our heat pump although it was too cold and wet to actually eat outdoors. Then, Saturday night, it rained all night and in the AM, so we checked out and drove home. Had fun along the way giving tours of our trailer at gas stations. Of course you have to stop at MAC's in Priest River for Huckleberry Heaven ice cream. This ice cream has the real taste of wild huckleberries - a must have, even if it's not a nice day!
